Paul Taylor-Mills is to helm a new 200-seat theatre in Circus West Village at the Battersea Power Station.
The Turbine Theatre, which forms part of the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station, will have a focus on new work and reviving classics for a contemporary audience.
Drew McOnie will direct the first production at the theatre – Torch Song, by Harvey Fierstein.

The new theatre will be led by Paul Taylor-Mills as artistic director, who has previously been the artistic director at The Other Palace. His recent production credits include Heathers the Musical and The Wild Party at The Other Palace, and Side Show, In The Heights and Casa Valentina at Southwark Playhouse.
Ahead of the Turbine’s official opening, Paul Taylor-Mills told Encore Radio: “I’m elated to be launching a brand new theatre at the iconic Battersea Power Station. The vision is a simple one, to enable world class artists to tell stories that enchant at the Turbine Theatre and eventually play beyond our London home”.
Taylor-Mills tells The Stage he has three goals for the venue – to transfer a show to the West End within the first year, to have a show on Broadway by year three and then to have a production somewhere else in the world within five years.
The entire Encore team wish Paul and his team the very best of luck with this exciting new venture.
