In the interview Martine talks about how amazing it was to be a young star in Eastenders but also how she loved being in stage shows.
Martine says she always wanted to play the iconic role of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady so when Cameron Mackintosh offered the role she jumped at it.
When asked if she felt type cast playing the part Martine says coming from east London gave her approach to the role a certain sense of real integrity.
More recently the singer songwriter and actress has struggled with ME, sometimes unable to get up out of bed. Her husband Jack encouraged her tell her story of loss of health and recovery through music and this forms the background to her new album Lost And Found – released on August 11th this year.
