In this episode, Connor and Catherine sit down with West End star Chris McGuigan.

Chris is currently making his West End debut in Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre. We learn more about where his passion began for musical theatre, from performing in a youth production of Hello Dolly to now treading the boards of London’s West End.

0:00 – 7:10 – Where did it all begin? We learn more about Chris’ start into the world of musical theatre. From growing up in Belfast to being involved in his first youth production  – Hello Dolly. We learn that Chris moved to London when he was 18 and studied psychology at UCL – University College London. While studying psychology he was part of the drama society at UCL. He tells us more about his first show at UCL Oklahoma! where he played Curly.

7:11 – 19:27 – We speak about Chris’ time in Titanic The Musical where he played the role of Jim Farrell. We learn more about how Chris felt being part of the UK Tour, opening in Southampton and then taking the show home to Belfast.

23:35 – 31:37 – Chris tells us more about what it was like being part of London Musical Theatre Orchestra (LMTO) concert production of Howard Goodall’s Girlfriends.

31:38 – 38:56 – Chris is currently making his West End debut in Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre. He tells all about his Waitress journey and how he found out that he got the job.
