The National Theatre will remain closed until at least August 31st, while Curve Leicester will stay dark until November.
With all performances through July and August cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the National Theatre has stated “we wait, with you, for government advice about how and when we might be able to welcome you back”.
Shows to be stood down include The Corn Is Green starring Nicola Walker and Welcome To Iran.
In a statement from Curve Leicester, the venue said “Although we know this (further closure) is disappointing, we are working hard to ensure our programme of work and community offering is as strong as ever for when we are able to re-open the theatre.”
A number of shows at the venue have been cancelled, while others including Love Never Dies and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof are expected to be rescheduled.
For ticket holders worried about where they stand, the venue has promised to be in contact with customers in due course.
